Presidential elections are held in Finland every six years as direct, popular elections. Statistics Finland produces official statistics from the elections. The preliminary statistics are published on the Internet, in the StatFin online service and on the statistics pages on Presidential elections as soon as possible starting from the election night. The second data, or the final data are supplied to Statistics Finland after the election result is confirmed. After the confirmation of the election result, the confirmed data corresponding to the preliminary statistics are released on the statistics pages on the Internet and the StatFin databases are updated. Detailed data on presidential elections (since 1994) can be found on Statistics Finlands website on the specific page designated for them in the list of statistics by topic, and since 1994 in the StatFin online service. Statistics Finland receives the basic data for the elections from the Ministry of Justices election information system, the technical implementation of which it has assigned to Tieto Group. Statistics Finlands election data system comprises two election data files: regional file and candidate file.
Detailed tables of the statistics are available in the StatFin database
You can find updated tables in the StatFin database. Extract the data you need into tables, view the data as charts or download the data for your use.
